/Mello-Roos bonds are a type of land secured financing that leverages the value of land in a portion of a school or community college district. To issue Mello-Roos bonds, a district must sponsor the formation of a community facilities district. Mello-Roos bonds are repaid through special taxes calculated using a special tax formula.
